Here's an update on my family, since I know not everybody reads Livejournal.


My Aunt is ready to die. She's had this tumor for about 7 years now and it's putting enough pressure on her brainstem that she is essentially comatose with pain.

My Aunt & Uncle from Australia are here right now, and together with my Mom they're spending all of their time up in Mulino at my Aunt's house (Marlene has insisted from day 1 that she doesn't want to die in a hospital). We're near the end, just waiting. She's lost the ability to swallow, and you can hear her struggling for every breath. She doesn't really squeeze hands or acknowledge people anymore, which is probably for the best, since before this she was so out of it she'd hallucinate people being there, and freak out that she was "going to die" and get way too panicky for them to handle.

Her kids are currently at a friend's house, probably through the end of the week.

So... yeah. Waiting. It's hard, and I'm kind of far removed from it, since I'm not there, and I'm at work, but it's hard to watch the stress on my Mom. Yeah.

So that's what's up. It's super awesome to have Bob & Tina here, they're a great support and a great help and also lots of fun, even though things suck right now.


As of 3pm today, my Mom's little sister has passed away!
